In my personal life , I suffer from sleep anxiety and have lived in experience of self harm and depression.

Over 21 years of military experience in Human Resources, an Associate Member of CIPD and a Diversity and Inclusion Manager promoting and improving people’s working lives. I have delivered pastoral support and management for service personnel dealing with; mental health concerns, physical injuries, difficult family situations, drinking and gambling addiction, crime victims, and military disciplinary or civilian criminal investigations.
Having served 25 years in the Royal Navy (Submarine Service), I have led an interesting and fulfilling life, that has had its up’s and downs, through some of the downs I realised how important it was to be able to speak to people that understood my position.
I have studied many different coping techniques and specialise in assisting people to identify and achieve their personal goals by helping them to discover new ways of looking and thinking about their current situation.
This can be in the form of finding a new and productive coping strategy or simply talking through a problem and resolving it by using other techniques.

I have for a number of years had an interest in mental wellbeing and mindfulness. Through one of my previous employers, I received funding to complete my Practitioner and Master Practitioner in NLP. I have always had a passion to help others and have previously been a Children's Panel member and participated in the MCR Pathways project which was a mentorship program for secondary school children that are or were involved in the social care system.
I am proud to be one of the first people that attended and have continued to do so since the start and look forward to this new year when if time and availability allows, I can participate in the courses that are planned to further enhances my skills and knowledge so that we can provide more help and support.

I have had personal and family experience of varying mental health issues spanning over 25 years. I am an experienced communications expert having worked in this field for over 24 years, specialising in using active listening skills to enhance and extend conversation. I am MH, suicide, self harm awareness trained and have completed a coaching and mentoring course prior to volunteering for this role.
